1. Read your emails and act on them
Your email inbox is likely the first thing you’ll check when you start your day. It’s easy for emails to pile up, so a good QA morning routine should include going through your inbox first. Make sure to act on emails where you’re cc’d and update tickets accordingly.
If any tickets need to be moved to the “Ready for QA” state, do that first thing. This helps everyone on the team know exactly what needs to be worked on, and it’s an easy win for your productivity. Don’t forget to check if any tickets need to be reopened and double-checked.
2. Check the tickets your colleagues added.
Your colleagues are likely adding new tickets or updating old ones throughout the day. As part of your QA morning routine, it’s important to check these additions thoroughly to stay on top of your tasks. Look for anything that might need immediate attention or clarification, so nothing slips through the cracks.
3. Priorities when checking tickets:
When you start working through your tickets, make sure you prioritize properly. Not all tickets are created equal, so a good QA morning routine includes figuring out which tickets are most urgent.
