We start as soon as the contract is signed; you get a written proposal within 2 business days; NDA and DPA from day one.

// what we won't do
  • We do not build software.So we never mark our own homework.
  • We do not lock you in.The tests and reports are yours.
  • We do not swap in juniors.Not without telling you first.
// 01

What you can outsource to us

  • A full testing function. We plan it, run it, staff it and report on it. See managed testing services.
  • Extra hands on an existing team. Your QA lead, our engineers, your process.
  • A specialist for a fixed piece of work. Performance, security, accessibility, or API testing, where hiring full time makes no sense for a few weeks a year.
  • Test automation. Building a suite, or rescuing one that everybody has stopped trusting.

Most engagements start as one of these and turn into another. The contract flexes.

// 02

Engagement models

There are three ways to work with us. The difference is who directs the testing day to day.

ModelHow it worksA good fit when
Managed testing teamWe own the testing function: strategy, people, tools and reporting. You get release reports and a clear answer on whether a build can ship. See managed testing services.You have no QA function yet, or you want an outcome rather than extra headcount.
Engineers inside your teamDedicated testers join your stand-ups, your tracker and your process. Your QA lead or engineering manager directs them. This is outstaffing, also called staff augmentation.You already have a QA lead and need more capacity or a specialist on the team.
Project-based testingA defined piece of work with an end date: a major release, a migration, a performance or security round, an accessibility audit. We scope it, run it and hand over the findings.The need is real but temporary, and hiring for it makes no sense.

The same terms apply to all three. €20-45 per hour. Engagements start from one month, and the first month is a trial: if you are not happy with the first two weeks, they are complimentary. After the first month, either side can end it with 30 days notice. We sign an NDA and a DPA from day one, and our five tools come with every model.

We only test. We do not build software, so we never sign off code we wrote.

// 03

Why companies outsource QA

QA outsourcing means handing your software testing to a company outside your development team. We work for clients in the US and across Europe, under EU data protection law (GDPR). We are not the team that wrote yours, and we have no development contract to protect by staying quiet about defects.

Independent engineers working with agentic test pipelines built on our own tools: more coverage and more value, for less than an in-house QA team.

Speed of standing up. Hiring five QA engineers takes months in most markets. An embedded team of ours can be productive in two weeks, which suits a post funding sprint.

Specialists you cannot justify hiring. Performance engineers, security testers and accessibility auditors are expensive and idle most of the year on a single product. Ours are shared across accounts.

Tool fatigue. Playwright, Cypress, JMeter, OWASP ZAP and the rest have to be chosen, licensed and maintained by somebody. We bring our own, and the five we built ourselves are included.

Objectivity. Internal QA answers to the person asking whether it can ship on Friday. We do not sit in that meeting. We report what we found and the pressure to round it down is not on us.

Time zone overlap. Most of the working day with the UK and Europe, and the start of the US East Coast day. The hours for your location are in the table below.

Why independent QA matters

When developers test their own work, things get missed. An independent team gives your product a fresh, unbiased look.

// 04

Where the team sits, and when we overlap with you

Our engineers work from Cluj-Napoca, Romania, inside the EU. Romania is on Eastern European Time (GMT+2, GMT+3 in summer). We work under EU data protection law (GDPR), so your test data never has to leave the EU to reach us.

You are inShared working hoursHow it works in practice
UK and IrelandAbout 7 hoursAlmost your whole day. We are two hours ahead, so live calls, pairing and same-day retests are normal.
Continental EuropeMost of the dayOne or two hours apart. Day to day it works like a team in the next building.
US East CoastAbout 2 to 4 hoursYour morning is our afternoon. Stand-ups and triage fit there, and what you merge at the end of your day is usually tested by your next morning.
US West CoastAbout 1 hourMostly asynchronous. Bugs, retests and reports are waiting in your tracker when you start, and a short scheduled call covers the rest.

If your team needs builds tested overnight, the gap helps.

Ecommerce QA outsourcing

In an online shop, a bug is lost revenue you can count by the hour. The work that matters most is narrow and repetitive, which is why many retailers hand it to a dedicated outside team.

  • Checkout. Guest and logged-in paths, address and shipping rules, tax by country, saved baskets, and what happens when a customer goes back a step or opens a second tab.
  • Payments. Card payments with 3-D Secure, wallets, local methods, declines, timeouts, refunds and partial refunds, all in the payment provider's test mode, plus the order states and emails each one should trigger.
  • Promotions and pricing. Discount codes that should not stack, sale prices that start and end on time, delivery charges that drop at a basket threshold, bundles, and the rounding errors that appear in a currency you did not test.
  • Peak traffic. Load and performance testing before a sale or a seasonal peak, stock that must not oversell when many people buy the last item, and a regression run on the release you freeze before the busy weeks.
  • Integrations. Stock, ERP, shipping and marketing tools, where an order looks fine in the shop and arrives wrong everywhere else.
  • Accessibility. Checkout and product pages tested against WCAG. Under the European Accessibility Act, most online shops selling to EU consumers must now meet it.

Two models fit retail well: engineers inside your team all year, with more added in the run-up to a peak, or a project-based round before a replatform or a major sale. Ecommerce clients sit alongside healthcare, SaaS and fintech on our case studies page.

Small teams need QA too

Team size no longer predicts how much testing you need. A small team shipping with coding agents produces several times the code it produced two years ago, and the defects scale with the output rather than with the headcount. No one added review capacity to match.

If you want the long version with the cost arithmetic worked through, we keep it in our guide to in-house vs outsourced QA. It argues both sides.

// 07

How we start

A one-month trial, and the first two weeks are complimentary if you are not happy. We sign an NDA and a DPA from day one, then embed, learn the product, write tests and file real bugs against your actual software. By the end of the trial you have the bugs we found in BugBoard, the written tests and a final report. If the first two weeks do not convince you, you do not pay for them. At the end of the first month you decide whether to carry on, and from then on either side can end it with 30 days notice.

We do this because nobody can judge testing quality from a proposal. Every QA company describes itself the same way. Two weeks of real bug reports against your own product settles it in a way that a reference call cannot.

After that: a named team, the same people month to month, a maintained suite, and reporting you can forward without rewriting.

What it costs

€20-45per hour

€20 to €45 an hour, depending on seniority, how long you commit for, and the mix of manual, automation and specialist work. Longer commitments move down that range.

Every engineer on your product has shipped commercial releases before. The rate moves with seniority, commitment length and the mix of work, never by swapping in people new to testing. We compete on what the testing is worth, not on being the cheapest quote in your inbox, and we would rather lose to a lower bid than win by staffing your product with people who have not seen your domain before.

Included at no licence cost: BugBoard for test management and AI test generation, Flows for automation that heals its own selectors, Auditi for GDPR, WCAG and FDA auditing, BetterFlow so you can see what the hours went into, and our AI Security Toolkit. We built all five because the off the shelf versions did not keep up with us.

How to choose a QA outsourcing company

Every QA company describes itself the same way, us included. These are the questions that separate them, and you should ask them of us too.

  • Are they independent? A vendor that also builds software has a reason to go easy on code it wrote, or on code it hopes to rewrite for you. Ask whether they do development work.
  • Will they test your product before you sign for a year? A proposal tells you nothing about testing quality. Real bug reports against your own software do. Ask for a trial and what it costs if you stop.
  • Who exactly works on your product, and do they stay? Ask how long engineers usually stay on one account, and what happens when someone leaves.
  • How do they handle your data? Ask for the ISO/IEC 27001 scope statement, not only the certificate, and for an NDA and a DPA before anyone gets access.
  • Is the price public, and so is the exit? Ask for the hourly range, the notice period, and the minimum term in writing before the first call ends.
  • Whose tools, and what do you keep? Ask what the licences cost, and whether your tests, bugs and test cases leave with you when the engagement ends.
  • When do your working days overlap? Ask for the shared hours in your own time zone, and how they work when there are none.
  • Can a non-tester read their reports? Ask for a sample. If your product owner cannot tell from it whether to ship, the reports will be skimmed and ignored.

Our answers: we only test; the first month is a trial and the first two weeks are complimentary if you are not happy; NDA and DPA from day one; €20-45 per hour with 30 days notice; ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO 9001; and you keep your test suites when we part.

Credentials, and what each one is actually worth

  • Four ISO certificates. ISO 9001:2015 (quality management), ISO/IEC 27001:2022 (information security), ISO 14001:2015 (environmental), ISO 13485:2016 (medical devices). ISO 13485 is the medical device quality standard, and we hold it alongside 9001, 14001 and 27001. It is the one medical device manufacturers look for when they qualify a testing supplier, because their own quality system has to account for who tests their software.
  • A NATO procurement agreement. We hold the NATO NCIA Basic Ordering Agreement (NCAGE 1JGAL), reference NCIA/BOA/42405442. It is a signed ordering agreement, the thing NATO actually issues to suppliers. Any NATO body, and the government agencies of NATO member nations, can order from us under terms that are already signed, so a project starts without a contract negotiation.
  • Avetta Consortium member since February 2025. That is supply chain prequalification, used by large buyers to pre-screen contractors. We are an Avetta member, so supply-chain teams that screen contractors through Avetta can onboard us directly.
  • 4.9 on Clutch across 71 reviews. It is the one item on this list written by clients rather than by an auditor or a procurement office.
  • Specialists you would not hire full time. A security tester and a performance engineer can join your account for a fortnight without us recruiting for it. Need only a test of your web app, API or mobile app? See our penetration testing services.

Our ISO 27001 covers how we handle your data, credentials and test environments, and our ISO 9001 quality system governs how every engagement runs. We send the certificates with their scope statement, so your procurement team reads it first-hand.

Common questions

Is outsourced QA as good as in-house?

Different rather than worse. You gain specialists and objectivity, and you lose some product intuition in the first month. Keeping the same engineers on your product for six months and longer is how we close most of that gap.

How do you handle our data?

We sign NDAs, we work inside your VPN and tooling where you want us to, and the handling is covered by our ISO 27001 management system. For a regulated product, ask us for the scope statement rather than the certificate.

What if it does not work out?

If you are not happy with the first two weeks, they are complimentary. The first month is a trial, and after it either side can end the engagement with 30 days notice, so you are never locked into a long contract. When engagements end, you keep the test suites, the documentation and the tooling configuration.

Can you work with our existing QA team?

Most of our work is this. Your lead keeps the process and we add capacity or specialists underneath it.

How much does QA outsourcing cost?

With us, €20 to €45 per hour, depending on seniority, commitment length and the mix of manual, automation and specialist work. Our five tools are included, so there is no separate licence bill.

How soon can an outsourced QA team start?

An embedded team can be working on your product in about two weeks.

What is the minimum engagement?

One month. The first month is a trial, and if you are not happy with the first two weeks they are complimentary. After the first month, the notice period is 30 days.

Can you work in our time zone?

We work from Romania (GMT+2, GMT+3 in summer). That gives most of the day with the UK and Europe, about 2 to 4 hours with the US East Coast, and about an hour with the US West Coast, where we work mostly asynchronously.

Can we scale the team up for a launch or a peak season?

Yes, for the weeks around a major release or a sale, within the one-month minimum. Tell us early: the people who join need time to learn your product before the busy week.

How do we keep control of testing we outsource?

We work in your tracker and to your release process, you see every bug as we file it, and BetterFlow shows what the hours went into. You set the priorities, and the test suites stay yours.

Do you also develop software?

No. We only test. That is the point: a testing company with no development contract has no reason to soften what it finds.

Is QA outsourcing the same as testing as a service or managed testing?

Close. Testing as a service, QA as a service and managed testing all mean buying testing as an ongoing service instead of hiring testers, which is our managed testing team model: we own the strategy, people, tools and reporting. If you would rather have dedicated testers working inside your own team, that is outstaffing, and we do that too.
