What is your role at BetterQA?
I am a recruiter and marketing analyst at BetterQA. I take on tasks like recruiting new people depending on the job openings and am also part of the marketing team.
Before BetterQA, what jobs did you have?
I was a marketing specialist for an NGO, where I had to come up with different ideas for posts and how to make them throughout the week, promote social events that the NGO was holding, and come up with new concepts to attract donations.
Why did you join BetterQA, and what has kept you here?
Luckily, a former colleague and a friend of mine recommended me. I have considered the job change ever since I started my master’s courses, which focused on studying HR management, and because I wanted to work in the HR field, I took an interview and have liked it ever since.
It might be cliche, but the reasons why I actively decided to stay are the team that I am part of, the healthy organizational culture that is kept active by this company. I really like the people I work with – even if we all converse in a professional setting, the atmosphere is friendly and ideal for working.
What do you find the most challenging at BetterQA?
The most challenging aspect of my work is working in the HR field while being a socially introverted person. It’s challenging but not impossible since it keeps me productive, and even though it’s a bit ironic that I am an introvert, I work with this trait in a way that does not put me at a disadvantage with my work.
What do you like most about BetterQA?
I really like the team spirit we have here. There is a feeling of friendly competition between each other, especially when we play trivia games, which help us communicate with each other and invite the sense of a healthy dose of competition between ourselves, which I see as a good factor that prevents work burnout.
What career path would you follow if you weren't doing this?
I think that’s a hard question to answer, considering that my decisions in life were in the hopes of achieving the career path I am on. Still, if I were to consider another job, it would involve the sociology aspect of my education and degree, specifically focusing on the statistics side of the field.
What advice do you have for prospective BetterQA candidates?
Be confident in what you know and what you have to offer for the company, and remember that you don’t need to be perfect for the role to apply. Always know that you are human and are bound to make mistakes along the way, and what’s important is your ambition and curiosity, which you can use to your advantage.
How do you spend your time outside of the office?
I usually watch TV shows, play games, or have fun with my friends on Discord. I also live with two cats, which never gets dull.
What's a fun fact about you that not many people know?
Sometimes in my free time, I paint or draw; not many people know that about me. I do not consider myself an artist, but I enjoy my hobby’s therapeutic benefits.
Where’s your favorite place in the world?
I do not have a specific place in mind since I haven’t been abroad too much, but my ideal place is on top of a hill or mountain where you can enjoy nature, where it’s quiet, and you can be peaceful.
What is the weirdest fact you know?
I don’t necessarily think it’s the weirdest, but it’s definitely the cutest. When cats stare at you for some time, if they purr and slow blink at you, that’s their way of smiling at you.
